Business & Occupation Taxes
All people who are engaged in business within the Town of Ansted are required to file B & O Taxes with the Town. You are required to file with this town even if you maintain no office, place of business or warehouse within the corporate limits, but do make sales or perform services, activities or contracting within said limits.
ALL BUSINESSES, PERSONS OR CONTRACTORS WHO USUALLY CONDUCT TAXABLE ACTIVITY WITHIN THE TOWN OF ANSTED BUT HAVE NO BUSINESS DURING THE REPORTING PERIOD MUST WRITE ON THEIR RETURN “NONE” OR “NO BUSINESS CONDUCTED” AND FILE THEIR RETURN IN THE NORMAL MANNER.
Due date: Returns are due one month from the end of the taxable quarter.
1st Quarter (January 1 through March 31)………….DUE by April 30
2nd Quarter (April 1 through June 30)……………..DUE by July 31
3rd Quarter (July 1 through September 30……..DUE by October 31
4th Quarter (October 1 through December 31)…DUE by January 31

Hotel Occupancy Tax
Anyone who has a short-term rental property within the Ansted city limits is required to obtain a municipal business license through the Town and pay B & O taxes and Hotel Tax.
If you are using a 3rd party reservation center (Air BnB, VRBO, etc.), the center will collect the 6% Hotel Occupancy Tax and the 1% Municipal Sales Tax. However, if you are booking your own reservations then you will need to submit the Hotel Occupancy Tax Return form to the Town of Ansted.
Construction Permits
Anyone planning to do construction inside of city limits, which will change the footprint of the property, is required to obtain a municipal construction permit through the Town of Ansted prior to the start of construction.
Construction permit fees vary, and a calculation sheet is below. After application and fees have been received, the Town building inspector will review your application and make final decision or give further instruction on the process of your project.
